Many claim to be in this business to make art accessible to all, yet no one excels as W1 Curates. The epitome of art democratisation, this initiative has broken into the midst of London’s iconic Oxford Street, and transformed the exterior of Flannels London Flagship store into never ending art show for all. A space that would be traditionally reserved for high street advertising turned into an inside out digital gallery space.
Having hosted shows by contemporary masters from David Lachapelle to Michael Craig Martin and given our praise for this project, we couldn’t be more proud that photographer Derrick Ofosu Boateng got to light up London’s heart with his so called Hue-ism. An explosion of light that advocates for the beauty in the meaning of colour and visual poetry of everyday African culture, lifestyles, and behaviours thereby “changing the story that is told of Africa.”
