Tamara Al-Samerraei

Tamara Al-Samerraei (b. 1977, Kuwait) lives and works in Beirut. Her paintings unfold slowly layered surfaces built from rhythm, repetition, and gesture that balance the monumental and the intimate. There is a quality of deep listening in her work, as if each composition arrives gradually, through colour and movement, into its own kind of clarity. Recent solo exhibitions include Sounding The Interior at Kunsthaus Baselland (2026) and Marfa’ 10 at Marfa’, Beirut (2025), with presentations at Art Basel Paris (2025) and the Sursock Museum, Beirut (2024).
